Showlist Jauary 30th 2009


Hey All-

Not a lot to report this week. I have been buried in work stuff, and thus have not kept up on much of anything. Oh, I guess we had a bit of a weather thing. The old "Wintry Mix". Apparently, Obama things we are all weenies now. Eh, I've been called worse.

There are a bunch of new shows added, straight through February. Could always use more submissions. Reply here, or to dcbaltimoreallages [at] gmail [dot] com.

Showlist for January 23rd 2009


Hey all-

Well, the buzz of the Inauguration has come and gone. A few highlights for me included the Manifest Hope show put on by Shepard Fairy. For those who are not sure, he is the guy who made the original Hope poster of Obama that has become the icon of the campaign. The original is now hanging the Smithsonian American Art Museum. The show was great.

The other highlight is this video.
Clever and funny.

Showlist for January 16th 2009


Hey everyone.

Well it is official. Inauguration Fever has gripped the city. Secret Service is uptight, cops are everywhere ready to give full cavity searches at the drop of a hat, price gouging is rampant and the mall looks like a cross between the sad state fair, and an internment camp. whaddya gonna do?

I am excited for the new administration, and I am excited about the historical significance of Obama's impending Presidency. I am just not big on huge crowds. So, I'll enjoy it from a safe distance. I hope everyone who does go has a great and safe time.

Oh well, it is late and I am way tired. See ya next week, when the madness has subsided.

Showlist for January 9, 2009


Hey everyone-

Well another week has passed. We are all going to be inundated with political stuff in the next few weeks, so I will abstain.

Sadly, we saw the passing of Ron Asheton this week. There is a pretty cool article in the LA Times where Mike Watt talks about playing with Ron. Pretty nice little article. you can find it here.


Also, I am planning on posting more to the blog page. This list will come out once a weeks as always, and the weekly emails will continue as they are. I will be adding more content to the blog page. Notable news, occasional reviews of shows, albums, etc. All music related, with a mostly local flavor. Probably the occasional art thing as well.
