Showlist for April 24th 2009

Hey All-

Hope you all had a good time on record store day and got some good tunes. I was stuck in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania doing family stuff. Not a record store in the little town I was in. sigh.....

OK, time to dig deep and give $5 to Fort Reno. If everyone on this list gives $5, Fort Reno will be in MUCH better shape. As always, it is all volunteer run (THANKS AMANDA!), and dependent on mostly donations. In this current economic climate, the dollars are even harder to come by. A bunch of $5 drops in the proverbial bucket would go a long way. For details on how to donate go to the Fort Reno website, or click on the Fort Reno Donate button on the right column of this page.

Alright, I gotta get to bed. Busy day tomorrow.

Showlist for April 17th, 2009

Hey all-

Well this was tax week. Kinda sux, but if you got a refund you should go spend it at a local record shop this Saturday. Why, you ask? Well, it's National Record Store Day. Lots of cool special releases, limited editions, and goodies just for Record Store Day. Find a list of all the cools stuff, plus a bunch of videos and cool stuff here.

We have several record stores around these here parts. Off the top of my head: Crooked Beat, Red Onion, Melody Records, Smash, Record and Tape traders, Sound Garden records, Som Records. Should be a good time. I also know that Crooked Beat is giving out goodie bags to the first 75 paying customers.

To quote Bill from Crooked Beat - "There are going to be over 50 exclusive titles slated to be released that day. The releases will be pressed only one time and will be extremely limited. Most of them have a worldwide pressing of only 2000 so they will be sold on a first come first served basis."

Sounds like my kinda stimulus package. (That's what she...oh never mind.)

BTW - last week I made it to see Title Tracks at the Black Cat backstage for the release of their 7" on Dischord. Excellent show. John Davis strikes again. I also had the chance to catch Laura Burhenn at the Rock n Roll Hotel on friday. Holy cow, what a fantastic set she had. If her upcoming album is half as good as what I saw/heard at the show, look out. Really great.

OK, gotta run. early shot tomorrow. Little plug, look for my photos in the upcoming Darkest Hour album, coming out on Victory soon.

more submissions please. (MOOOOORE!)

Showlist for April 10th 2009

Hey all-

Well, I have to start off with a quick apology to Mark and Zak. I missed their respective emails when they sent them to me a while backs. Seems I have been a little lax in checking the gmail account. To be fair, there has not been the activity there that I would like, so i got a little lazy. anyway, my apologies. Lesson learned.

So Shepard Fairy of "Obey" and Obama "Hope" poster fame in collaboration with Glen Friedman and The Bad Brains, put out a limited edition poster signed by everyone involved. Sold out as soon as they were released. Oh well. Sometimes Shepard releases more later. Read more here.

Also, if you were a Split Lip/Chamberlain Fan, they are getting back together. If you were not, then forget I said anything.

Happy Passover, Easter, or nothing. Whatever your persuasion, have a good weekend. Go see a show. I am going to Laura Burhenn's show at the RnR tomorrow. See you there?

More submission please. I promise to check the dcbaltimoreallages@gmail.com account from now on.

Showlist for April 3, 2009

Hey Everyone-

Quick note again this week. Busy week at list central, and it isn't stopping yet (clearly, as I am writing this at 1 in the morning - ugh).

Not sure if there is much to report this week. Amanda is plugging away at all the Fort Reno submissions. Don't forget to throw a few bucks their way if you can. All volunteer and donation run. There is a direct link on the Fort Reno Website.

Ok well, don't forget to plan for Record Store Day on April 18th. See you all next week.

More submissions please.

pete
