Showlist for February 27, 2009


Hey Everyone-

Not much to report here at list HQ. Mostly tied to the computer these days. A bit of good news for you fellow Jealous Sound fans: a new full length is in the works. Recording as we speak. I also got some inside dish on some upcoming Dischord vinyl re-issues. Can't give away too much, as I don't want to get anyone in trouble. I am pretty excited though.

Anyone else think Bobby Jindal was talking to us like we were kindergartners? Wow. Even the GOP thinks his speech was a disaster. eesh.

Well, go see some shows. Think of it as your own Punk Rock stimulus package. Injecting some much needed capital into the world of touring musicians.

Showlist for February 20, 2009


Hey Everyone-

List number 485. Crazy. Not sure Jimmy thought it would go this long. I think we can all be proud of that. I also have it on good authority (Jimmy) that he is still on the list serve. So he may live in NYC, but his heart is still in DC.

If my math is correct (never a sure thing), the 500th listing will be on May 28th. Memorial Day weekend. There is something that could happen then, but I not sure what. I am open to ideas. A show maybe? Would seem appropriate. Let me here from you. Either reply here, post a comment on the blog, or send and email to dcbaltimoreallages [at] gmail [dot] com.

A couple of notes this week. Touch and Go are ending their indie distribution arm. Read more here.

Sirius/XM, on the verge of bankruptcy, was bailed out by Libery Media (they own DirecTV).

Finally, following in the footsteps of last years Blag Flag tribute band, End Sounds is planning on doing a Minor Threat tribute band. Read more here.

Showlist February 13, 2009


Happy Valentine's All-

As has been the norm of late, I have been busy, and it is late, so I will be brief.

Joaquin Phoenix seems to have lost his marbles. Rumor has it that it is an elaborate hoax for a mockumentary of his taking leave of the acting world. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Cool free show at Crooked Beat Saturday: Benjy Ferree. Not the biggest venue, so get there early.
